Aim

MEMBC is an awareness course designed to educate NATO MILENG community, up to Coy level leaders, on Military Engineering (MILENG) interoperability, operating in a NATO/Multinational environment, and applying NATO MILENG Doctrine relevant to this level.

Course Objectives

By the end of this course students should be able to:

  • Identify relevant NATO doctrine to MILENG related topics.

  • This topics include: NATO Structure and Doctrine overview, NATO Order, Barrier Planning, Environmental Protection, Military Load Classification, Area/Route Denial, support to Air Operations, support to Force Protection, C- IED and Route Clearance.

  • Students must complete Syndicate tasks on Counter Mobility and must also be prepared to deliver a briefing to their fellow students on their national engineer structure and capabilities.

Engineering Staff Officers and Senior Non-Commissioned Officers (OR5 – OF2) Coy level and below.  

Prerequisites

Language proficiency:

  • Students must have the following standards of proficiency in English (STANAG 6001 ATrainP-5): Listening (Functional/2), Speaking (Functional/2), Reading (Functional/2), Writing (Survival/1).

           The preferred standard for this course is: Listening (Professional/3), Speaking (2), Reading (3), Writing (2)

Computer Skills:

  • Students must be familiar with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel capabilities​
