NATO Infrastructure Assessment in Support of Planning Course (NIASPC)

Aim

The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive understanding of infrastructure and the role it plays in the Operations Planning Process in order to enable the students to conduct standardized infrastructure assessments and produce related products.

Course Objectives

At the course conclusion, each student should be equipped to conduct basic infrastructure assessments to support the Operational Planning Process and Execution cycles from the Strategic to Tactical level. This includes identifying Critical National Infrastructure for a nation as well as Mission Vital and Key Infrastructure supporting a NATO mission.

NATO unclassified - open for all NATO Nations & Nations participating in NATO-led operations.

Target Audience

The target audience is primarily MILENG Staff Officers (OF-2 up to OF-4) and secondarily Staff Officers and Senior NCOs (OR-7 and above) from all functions, who are assigned or selected for assignment to NCS or NFS in a position related to infrastructure assessment.

Prerequisites

Language proficiency:

Students must have the following standards of proficiency in English (STANAG 6001): Listening (Good/3), Speaking (Fair/2), Reading (Good/3), Writing (Fair/2) On a case by case basis listening and reading levels can be lowered to level 2 proficiency.

Computer Skills:

Students must be familiar with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel capabilities.
